派迪雅人文研究所The Paideia Institute for Humanistic Study 是一個非營利教育組織，致力於促進古典人文科學的研究和鑑賞，重點是拉丁語和古希臘語言與文學。每年，他們都會舉辦一次高中論文競賽，為對這些學科抱持熱情的學生提供一個展示自己的古希臘語水平和理解能力的機會。此外，比賽也鼓勵參賽者深入探討學習希臘語的個人動機，並思考學習古希臘語和文化的更廣泛意義。

Why does The Odyssey, and the story of the return home, still matter? We invite you to offer your own interpretations of either The Odyssey itself, specific episodes from The Odyssey, or themes that the poem introduces (the structure of the family/oikos, nostalgia, fidelity, disguise, lying, masks, to name a few). You should also feel free to write about Odyssean themes in other cultural works, both ancient and modern. The best essays, however, will ground themselves in the thoughts of Homer and the ancient Greeks. Think of your essay as an advertisement for why knowing this fundamental work of Greco-Roman culture is still worth our time.
