Class Introduction
This class is designed to provide students with foundational knowledge in historical theory, helping them deeply understand the core theories and methods of major historical theorists. By studying thinkers like Hobbes, Locke, Marx, Weber, Foucault, and Fanon, students will gain theoretical tools to analyze historical events and social phenomena.
This class is especially beneficial for students preparing for history competitions such as National History Day, John Locke Essay Contest, etc. It is also perfect for those interested in history and seeking to build a strong theoretical foundation for future studies in history or related fields in high school or college. The class will provide comprehensive historical theory support, helping students excel in academic writing, critical thinking, and future scholarly pursuits.
Outcome
- Students will understand and master the core historical theories of scholars like Hobbes, Locke, Marx, Weber, Foucault, and Fanon, and learn how to apply these theories to the analysis of historical events.
- By studying various historical theories, students will enhance their critical thinking skills and be able to analyze historical events and social phenomena from multiple perspectives.

Feedback
Students and their parents will receive brief feedback after each class regarding the student’s general participation in class. Students will also receive feedback on graded assignments via email.
