The Congressional Art Competition is sponsored by The Congressional Institute. The competition invites high school students to create 2-D artwork. Students submit entries to their representative’s office, and the winners are recognized in their district and at an annual awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. Their works will also be displayed for one year at the U.S Capitol.

This AP Art History Preparation Class is designed for high school students who are passionate about art and are seeking to excel in the AP Art History exam. The course offers a comprehensive overview of art history, spanning from prehistoric times to contemporary art.
The New York Times invites readers and budding writers to participate in the New York Times One-Pager Challenge. This competition encourages participants to engage deeply with stories published in The Times by crafting a one-page response that reflects their insights, creativity, and critical thinking.
Quill and Scroll, the International High School Honor Society, hosts the Quill and Scroll Yearbook Excellence Contest. Students can choose from 39 categories, under three main umbrellas: Design, Writing, Photo and Middle School to submit!
Students will learn the fundamental techniques of digital photography through a series of photography assignments. Students will explore their personal lives and experiment with photography’s communicative abilities.
In AP Art and Design, students will produce artworks and designs, expressing their ideas through both written and visual means. By the end of the course, students will have a completed portfolio ready for submission.

The high school award is a symbol for the pursuit of excellence and will help students stand out in university applications and scholarship applications.
Students will dip their toes into the world of publishing-chapbook making. Participants will write and polish 4 poems and 1 short story or creative non-fiction, assemble their work into a portfolio, and publish it in a stylish, professional manner in the form of a print or digital chapbook. Students will be given a training in InDesign to create a completed chapbook.
