Class Introduction
The Oxford Saïd Global Climate Tech Challenge Preparation class prepares students for this highly competitive international STEM innovation competition, which requires them to combine scientific research, technological creativity, feasibility analysis, and professional presentation skills.
Outcome
- Identify and clearly define a climate-related problem within one of the five competition themes.
- Conduct scientific and market research to validate the problem.
- Design a technology-based solution grounded in STEM principles.
- Build a professional-level 10-slide pitch deck.
- Develop a persuasive 3-minute presentation aligned with judging standards.
Class Structure
16 hours of class in total:
- 10 hours – Problem identification, research, solution development, and strategy
- 6 hours – Presentation deck development and 3-minute video preparation.
Feedback
Students and their parents will receive brief feedback after each class regarding the student’s general participation in class. Students will also receive feedback on graded assignments via email.
