Student Achievements
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is one of the largest, longest-running, and most prestigious creative competitions for students in the United States.
Each year, over 300,000 submissions are received from students in grades 7–12 across North America. Entries are first judged at the regional level, where Gold Key winners advance to the national level.
Students from grades 7–12 earned a total of 142 awards:
- 🥇 3 National Gold Medals
- 🥈 5 National Silver Medals
In addition to national honors, students also performed exceptionally at the regional level:
- 37 Gold Keys
- 44 Silver Keys
- 53 Honorable Mentions
With 8 national awards and 134 regional awards, our students have once again delivered an impressive and meaningful set of results in this year’s Scholastic competition.
How Competitive Are the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards?
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is one of the longest-running and most prestigious competitions for young creatives in the United States and Canada. In 2024, more than 110,000 students submitted nearly 340,000 entries across both art and writing categories. Although this year’s official statistics have not yet been released, last year’s data showed that the regional/state award rate was approximately 45% (based on the number of awarded students).
Aralia’s 78% student award rate significantly exceeds the overall competition rate of 45%, demonstrating exceptional competitiveness. Even more exciting, all Gold Key-winning works will advance to the national-level judging round of Scholastic.
Since the organizers disclose only the number of national award-winning works, the national-level award rate is estimated at just 2.7%, highlighting the competition’s extremely high level of selectivity.
