Competition Details
1. Programs
The American Debate League, founded in 2014 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, expands access to debate education for students of all backgrounds. Through year-round competitive tournaments, summer debate camps, and Regional Debate Centers, the organization helps young people build debate, public speaking, and literacy skills that strengthen confidence, academic performance, graduation outcomes, and college readiness.
2. Events and Competitions
The American Debate League hosts various events and competitions for students.
- Public Forum Debate for grades 4-5, 6-8, and 9-12: In teams of two, students debate a current event. Judges are community members of the American Debate League. Live In-Person Debate Tournaments Available in NYC/Tri-State.
- Virtual Speech and Debate Summer Camp for grades 5-12.
