Competition Details
1. Programs
The main debate competition that the American Debate League hosts is the Speech & Debate Tournament. The tournament has three different divisions: Elementary School, Middle School, and High School
2. Events and competitions
The American Debate League hosts various events and competitions for students.
- Public Forum Debate for grades 4-5, 6-8t and 9-12: In a team of two, students debate a topic concerning a current event. Judges are community members of the American Debate League. Live In-Person Debate Tournaments Available in NYC/Tri-State.
- Virtual Speech and Debate Summer Camp for grades 5-12.
In addition to the competitions, the American Debate League also provides:
- Summer Debate Camps for elementary to high school students
- Regional Debate Centers for debate and public speaking education for students without access to such programs
