About The 2025 NSW HSC High School Rankings
Every year, students receive the New South Wales Higher School Certificate (HSC) when they finish year 12, the final year of high school. This “final report card” result will determine university entry.
Rankings are based on Success Rate, which is the percentage of Band 6 results. Band 6 refers to the top score range of 90–100%, representing the highest level of achievement in each subject in the NSW HSC system.
These rankings help families identify schools offering rigorous academic training, supportive communities, and pathways to top Australian universities, including the University of Sydney, University of New South Wales (UNSW), the Australian National University, and the University of Melbourne.
