Class Introduction
This unique one-on-one experience is designed for students who are interested in participating in the Omnibus Magazine Gladstone Memorial Essay Prize. The class is a unique opportunity to delve deep into the intricacies of classical scholarship through engaging with thought-provoking topics. Led by an experienced teacher, the class navigates participants through analyzing, researching, and developing arguments for their essays tailored to their chosen topic.

- Preparation of a polished essay submission for the Gladstone Memorial Essay Prize
Class Structure
10 one-on-one classes, 1 hour each, 10 hours of classes in total.
Class Content

| 1 | Brainstorming: Discuss topics & the fundamental aspects of research and thesis formulation. |
| 2-4 | Research & Thesis: Identify all fundamental primary and secondary sources needed to explore your topic fully. Take organized notes and formulate a clear, nuanced, and defensible thesis |
| 5 | Outline: Create a skeletal outline for the paper, with all research material plugged into the appropriate sections |
| 6-8 | Drafting: Write the body of the paper first, one section at a time. Then, draft the introduction, including a suitable hook and conclusion. |
| 9-10 | Revising & Editing: Review all written material for accuracy, style, and completeness. Complete the bibliography & footnotes. |
Feedback
Students and their parents will receive brief feedback after each class regarding the student’s general participation in class. Students will also receive feedback on graded assignments via email.
