Before achieving this amazing result in the Teen Ink Magazine, this student found Aralia when she needed help with and guidance about her writing. She had the goal to submit her writing to various competitions and publishing companies. In our class, she completed three writing works: 1 personal narrative essay, 1 short story, and 1 critical essay. With the three essays written, she submitted the personal narrative to the New York Times Personal Narrative Writing Contest. The other two essays were submitted to the Bennington College Young Writers Award and Scholastics Arts & Writing. In addition, students could also submit their critical essay to any publishing company of choice, and she submitted to the Teen Ink Magazine.
