Class Introduction
In this class, students will learn how to express their unique perspectives on pressing environmental challenges, enhancing both their writing and critical thinking skills. Through guided instruction and personalized feedback, participants will leave the class with a polished piece of writing ready for submission.
Designed for middle and high school students, this class is perfect for aspiring writers who are passionate about protecting the environment and are eager to share their vision with the world.
Class Outcomes
- Produce a polished creative writing piece that is ready for submission to the Blue Planet Awareness Writing Competition.
- Develop advanced writing skills, including narrative structure, voice, and effective storytelling techniques.
- Receive personalized feedback from an experienced writing instructor, enabling them to improve both content and style.

| Group Class + One-on-one class | An award-winning writing instructor and competition coach with extensive experience in creative and academic writing. A Scholastic National Silver Medal-winning instructor and judge, she has coached students to multiple awards in major writing competitions, including the Blue Planet Awareness Contest and The New York Times competitions. She teaches writing at a top public university and hold an MFA in Creative Writing and a Juris Doctor (JD). | 4 group classes, 1.5 hours each class. 4 one-on-one classes, 1 hour each class. Total 10 hours of classes. |
| One-on-one class | Students can choose one of three experienced writing instructors based on their goals and interests:

Feedback
Students and their parents will receive brief feedback after each class, regarding the student’s general participation in class. Students will also receive feedback on graded assignments via email. Individual writing assignments will receive continual and extensive on text feedback from the teacher as well as peer feedback.
