Introduction

The National History Day Preparation Program is a course designed to help students prepare for National History Day, a nationwide competition that encourages students to explore historical events and ideas. The course will equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the competition, including research methods, critical thinking, and presentation skills. Students will explore theoretical frameworks and case studies of revolutionary change, counter-revolutionary reaction, and reformist response. 

Course option: 

  • Group Classes + 1-on-1 Sessions: Collaborative learning with personalized feedback and project guidance
  • 1-on-1 Sessions: Customized instruction focused on your individual topic, goals, and competition needs

One-on-one sessions for essay writing and editing

Schedule
  • Group classes and 1-on-1s: 9.5 hours in total, with 3 group lessons (1.5 hours each) and 5 one-on-one lessons (1 hour each).
  • 1-on-1s: 8-10 hours.
Feedback

Students and their parents will receive brief feedback after each class regarding the student’s general participation in class. Students will also receive feedback on graded assignments via email.
