The results of the Qualifying Round are in, and we’re thrilled to announce that an Aralia student has won Higher Distinction (Top 5%–20% worldwide) and successfully advanced to the Global Final!
About the IPsyO International Psychology Olympiad
If you’re planning to apply for a university major in psychology, behavioral science, neuroscience, education, or related fields, this is a competition you can’t miss. Known as the “World Cup of High School Psychology”, IPsyO is an annual international competition that attracts outstanding high school students from around the globe.
IPsyO International Psychology Olympiad Competition Structure
The 2025 International Psychology Olympiad (IPsyO) consists of two rounds:
1. Individual Qualification Round
- Format: 300-question Grand Test
- Content: Covers fundamental introductory psychology topics
- Awards:
- Highest Distinction
- Higher Distinction
- Distinction
- Excellence
Our Aralia student earned the Higher Distinction and advanced to the Global Final.
2. Team-based Final Round.
Top performers from each region advance and form teams, competing through:
- Material-based Objective Exam: 5 reading materials, 20 objective questions for each, with 120 minutes to complete the exam.
- Research Proposal Presentation: Prepare a research proposal based on the provided topic. Students have 7 days for preparation and 7 minutes for their presentation.
The event focuses on deep psychology knowledge and applied research skills.
Awards: Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals based on team performance

AP Psychology
In the AP Psychology class, you will explore psychological concepts and apply them to real-life case studies. Through reading and discussion, you’ll delve into the intricacies of psychology and analyze data from psychological research studies. Additionally, there will be a strategy course specifically designed for the multiple-choice section of the AP Psychology exam.

IPsyO International Psychology Olympiad Preparation
Master key psychology concepts, theories, and research skills to excel in the IPsyO. A rigorous, Olympiad-focused prep course for curious high school minds.

Scholar of Tomorrow Essay Competition Preparation
This course will guide students in preparing for the Scholar of Tomorrow Essay Competition, discussing tips on award-winning strategies. This class uses a one-on-one teaching model, aiming to help students polish their entries before submission.

John Locke Essay Competition Prep
In this John Locke Essay Competition Prep course, students will learn the ins and outs of essay writing, in preparation for entering the competition. We offer prep classes in all categories: philosophy, politics, economics, history, psychology, theology, and law. Students will choose one topic, compose an original thesis and argument, and write an essay for submission. Students will engage in a guided analysis of primary and secondary sources, develop critical thinking skills, and discover interesting insights. In addition to the group lecture classes, students will receive guidance on their individual projects from the instructor, in one-on-one sessions.
