How Competitive Are the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards?
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is one of the longest-running and most prestigious competitions for young creatives in the United States and Canada. In 2024, more than 110,000 students submitted nearly 340,000 entries across both art and writing categories. Although this year’s official statistics have not yet been released, last year’s data showed that the regional/state award rate was approximately 45% (based on the number of awarded students).
Aralia’s 78% student award rate significantly exceeds the overall competition rate of 45%, demonstrating exceptional competitiveness. Even more exciting, all Gold Key-winning works will advance to the national-level judging round of Scholastic.
Since the organizers only disclose the number of national award-winning works, the national-level award rate is estimated to be just 2.7%, highlighting the competition’s extremely high level of selectivity.

- Publication-level editing process: Students receive editorial-style revisions, guided by former literary magazine editors and publishing professionals, refining their work from ideas and structure to language and expression.
- Specialized mentor network: Our team includes instructors who have coached students to national Gold and Silver awards across diverse writing and art categories, ensuring precise and personalized mentor matching.
