National Personal Finance Challenge is the nation’s premier personal finance competition for teens. Through this program, students will have the opportunity to learn about topics such as budgeting, saving, investing, and credit management from experienced instructors.
The National Economics Challenge Prep is a course designed to prepare students for the National Economics Challenge, a nationwide competition that tests their knowledge and understanding of economics. This course will cover a variety of topics related to economics, including microeconomics, macroeconomics, international economics, and personal finance.
The group classes serve as an introduction to how to do research commonly used in economics, finance and investment. Students will become familiar with the concepts, methods, and applications of research and evaluation; learn how to critically consume and analyze research; and propose an appropriate research project to inform an important issue.
Aspiring entrepreneurs will learn to create, promote, and market a company to win over the judges in a Business Competition. Intro to Business Competition course is designed and taught by an M.B.A. professor and judge of graduate Business Pitch competitions. Topics include the differences between start-ups and small businesses, business ideation, designing business plans, environmental scanning, raising capital, developing budgets, establishing organizational structure, marketing and promotion strategies, persuasive sales pitches, and pitch-decks.
As a high school student with an interest in business and entrepreneurship, you will see the term “business plan” coming up often, in class, through extracurricular activities and in competitions. Today, we will learn how to create an effective business plan for your next business competition in high school.
