The Young Writers USA Contest is a writing competition for young writers in the United States. It is organized by Young Writers USA, a program that aims to promote and encourage writing among young people.

Competition Details

Introduction: Young Writers was established in the East of England in 1991 and has grown into a global brand.

Competition Theme:

Elementary Group:

  • Crazy Creatures 2022: Students will create their own character through creative writing
  • Ancient Adventure: Take the excitement of history and mix it with imagination to create ancient adventures! Students can pick any person, place, or event from history to inspire their mini saga, a story told in just 100 words.

Middle & High Group:

  • Integer: Write a 100-word stories around numbers
  • Twisted Tales Creative Writing Competition: A Twisted Story invites entrants to explore the making of characters and the influence of the narrator and perspective on the story. Contestants need to add a twist to the classic narrative of good and evil to show another side of the story.
    Contestants can write a 100-word story about a classic villain, or go beyond “villains”; from natural disasters and the animal kingdom to hacking and corruption, there’s no limit to what can be written.
