Class Introduction
Geometry is a branch of mathematics that focuses on studying shapes, sizes, and positions of objects in space. In this course, students will learn about fundamental concepts such as points, lines, planes, angles, parallel lines, triangles, similarity, trigonometry, quadrilaterals, transformations, circles, and area. Students will use mathematical concepts and knowledge to solve problems and develop critical thinking and decision-making skills by connecting these concepts to practical applications.
Outcome
After completing the course, students are expected to reach the following goals:
- Strong foundation in geometric concepts, including points, lines, planes, angles, parallel lines, triangles, similarity, trigonometry, quadrilaterals, transformations, circles, and area
- Use mathematical concepts and knowledge to solve problems and develop critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Make connections between geometric principles and the world
Feedback
Students and their parents will receive brief feedback after each class regarding the student’s general participation in class. Students will also receive feedback on graded assignments via email. At the end of the course, the student will receive a final report card, which thoroughly speaks to their overall participation in the course, including major assignments.
