Business competition prep courses are designed to provide students with a solid foundation in business principles and practices and cover a range of topics including finance, marketing, and more.
National Personal Finance Challenge is the nation’s premier personal finance competition for teens. Through this program, students will have the opportunity to learn about topics such as budgeting, saving, investing, and credit management from experienced instructors.
The National Economics Challenge Prep is a course designed to prepare students for the National Economics Challenge, a nationwide competition that tests their knowledge and understanding of economics. This course will cover a variety of topics related to economics, including microeconomics, macroeconomics, international economics, and personal finance.
The group classes serve as an introduction to how to do research commonly used in economics, finance and investment. Students will become familiar with the concepts, methods, and applications of research and evaluation; learn how to critically consume and analyze research; and propose an appropriate research project to inform an important issue.
The purpose of the AP Exam prep course is to equip students with knowledge and skills to excel in the upcoming AP Microeconomics exam. During the course, students will cultivate a profound understanding of economic concepts and principles. Additionally, they will develop the ability to define, analyze, and explain economic principles and models with clarity and precision.
Aspiring entrepreneurs will learn to create, promote, and market a company to win over the judges in a Business Competition. Intro to Business Competition course is designed and taught by an M.B.A. professor and judge of graduate Business Pitch competitions. Topics include the differences between start-ups and small businesses, business ideation, designing business plans, environmental scanning, raising capital, developing budgets, establishing organizational structure, marketing and promotion strategies, persuasive sales pitches, and pitch-decks.
The National Economics Challenge is hosted by the Council for Economic Education, a long-standing organization committed to equipping K-12 students with knowledge and tools of personal finance and economics. National Economics Challenge is the only annual economic competition for high school students. The competition tests students on their knowledge of the world economy, specifically microeconomics, macroeconomics, and international and current events.
Under the guidance of the professor, students will write a 15-page paper on the topic of international relations; examples of research topics: What is globalization? How do we measure it? What are the pros and cons of globalization? What is the best way to reduce government corruption? Use the data of Transparency International, select a country and write a report, etc.
This class is for students who are prepping to enter higher education with the hope of pursuing a research field in the context of business research. This course is taught by a scholar-practitioner who has extensive teaching and research experience at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels. Under the guidance of the professor, students will write a 15-page paper on business research topics; examples of research topics: The global impact of the “Belt and Road” initiative, China’s 1989 economic reform, How social media makes the world global, Sino-US trade war and more.
