Class Introduction

AP European History Prep course is a class designed to prepare students for the AP European History exam. The course will cover European history from c. 1450 to the present and will focus on cultural, political, and economic changes. Students will learn about key events, figures, and ideas that have shaped the history of Europe and the world. The course will provide an in-depth examination of the major historical events, movements and themes that have defined Europe’s past and continue to shape its present. The course will cover topics such as Renaissance, Reformation, Scientific Revolution, French Revolution, Napoleon, Industrial Revolution, World War I & II, Cold War, and more modern events.

In addition, the course will include a strategy component focused on preparing students for the multiple-choice portion of the AP European History exam. The teacher will provide students with strategies and techniques for effectively answering multiple-choice questions related to European history. This will help students to gain a solid understanding of the key concepts and practices in European history and to develop the analytical and critical thinking skills that are essential for success on the AP European History exam.

Feedback

Students and their parents will receive brief feedback after each class regarding the student’s general participation in class. Students will also receive feedback on graded assignments via email. At the end of the course, the student will receive a final report card, which thoroughly speaks to their overall participation in the course, including major assignments.
