Class introduction
The AP Physics 1: Algebra Based Preparation Course is designed to help high school students prepare for the Advanced Placement (AP) Physics 1 exam. This exam covers a variety of topics in physics, including kinematics, dynamics, energy, waves, and electricity and magnetism.
Throughout the course, students will engage in a variety of learning activities, including lectures, discussions, problem-solving exercises, and lab experiments. These activities will help students build a solid understanding of the fundamental concepts in physics and develop their critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
In addition to the course content, students will also receive comprehensive test preparation resources, including practice exams and review materials. These resources will help students feel confident and prepared for the AP Physics 1 exam.
Outcome
- Practice in the form of individual and group work on practice problems, online simulations, and “sense-making” tasks
- Have all the knowledge to enroll in their AP Physics 1 courses at their home institution
- Understand and master all the concepts introduced during the online sessions
Feedback
Students and their parents will receive brief feedback after each class regarding the student’s general participation in class. Students will also receive feedback on graded assignments via email. At the end of the course, the student will receive a final report card, which thoroughly speaks to their overall participation in the course, including major assignments.
