Class Introduction
AP Computer Science A Prep course is a class designed to prepare students for the AP Computer Science A exam. The course will help students to develop a deep understanding of programming structures and practices, including reading and writing code for computer programs. The course will also include strategies and techniques for answering multiple-choice questions on the AP Computer Science A exam. Topics covered in the course may consist of algorithms, data structures, object-oriented programming, and problem-solving.
Outcome
After completing the course, students are expected to reach the following goals:
- Understand programming structures and practices including reading and writing code for computer programs.
- Familiarity with the format and content of the AP Computer Science A exam
Strategies and techniques for effectively answering multiple-choice questions on the AP Computer Science A exam - Increase confidence and readiness for the AP Computer Science A exam
- Identify the exam success strategy/strategies to implement for the exam
Feedback
Students and their parents will receive brief feedback after each class regarding the student’s general participation in class. Students will also receive feedback on graded assignments via email. At the end of the course, the student will receive a final report card, which thoroughly speaks to their overall participation in the course, including major assignments.
