Class Introduction
Students learn fundamental skills in reading and discussing literature. Through a survey of three books, students will increase their exposure to new vocabulary in context, practice discussion skills with both their teacher and peers, and be introduced to ways of approaching theme, character, setting, and plot through conversation. This course is heavily focused on reading and discussion, making up the majority of homework and in-class discussion, although some reflective writing assignments will also be included.
